What is Neuro Feedback?

What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is an advanced technology that helps teach self-regulation of brain function. It is a type of biofeedback that uses images to display ones brain activity- most commonly used image is electroencephalography (EEG). These images teach self-regulation of brain function.

Is your brain functioning efficiently?

Your brain is capable of optimal functioning, but when your central nervous system is off kilter your brain operates inefficiently.

Symptoms of a malfunctioning central nervous system can include:

  • Memory Problems
  • Poor Performance on Task
  • Difficulty Sleeping
  • Feeling Low or Sad
  • Feeling Anxious
  • Addictions
  • Headaches
  • Irritability
  • How can we improve our brains efficiency?
Our brains can improve efficiency in a number of ways. We can take physical actions that will improve our brain function. We need to allow ourselves to get the right amount of nutrition, correct exercise, and the right amount of rest and relaxation.

We must strive to have balance and in our personal and professional lives, but these physical steps don’t undo the damage to our brain that we have built up over time.

For example going through a physical trauma, stress or poor nutrition.

What type of Neurofeedback is the most effective?

NeurOptimal® is considered by many to be the most highly evolved form of neurofeedback available today. After more than 40 years in the neuroscience field and related disciplines, Dr. Valdeane and Dr. Susan Cheshire Brown, have developed a safe, effective system that gives feedback directly to your brain allowing it to regulate itself more efficiently.

What happens in a Brain Training Session?
During these Neuroptimal brain training sessions, you wear two tiny sensors on your head and ear clips on your ears that record your brain waves. You sit in a comfortable chair and listen to music while closing your eyes. The music and respond to your brainwaves as shifts in brain patterns create brief interruptions in the music. These interruptions give the brain the opportunity to self-correct into a more natural, relaxed and effective pattern. After a session you feel refreshed, relaxed, and in a higher state of mental alertness and flow.
