What is Light Therapy?


We've evolved under the sun's natural light spectrum over a billion years, at the cellular, tissular and systemic level. Our Sun produces light and heat via the physical phenomenon called black body radiation, also called incandescence. 

Upon being heated, a material will incandence, emitting a predictable natural thermal light spectrum. The Sun produces natural full-spectrum light. Certain thermal infrared bands simulate the spectrum of the suns light.

Burning at 5800K, the sun's spectrum peaks at 500nm in the visible light band. 
We observe that 600-950nm wavelengths activate mitochondrial healing systems so we call this the Light Therapy Band. Water begins to absorb light strongly at 1150nm and above, so the Thermal Infrared band above 1150nm provides the Heat Therapy.
